Loom Weaving and Textile classes in the Valley

Posted by Christine Keller on

Weaving on Hillingdon is offering a series of four short classes for any interested person in 2014. This is the first announcement about these series - watch this spot.

The first class on weaving will start mid March and will be held on one day each of the weekends of March 15/16 and April 12/13 and in addition one evening per week during the weeks in-between. The venue and exact dates will be published at a later time but will surely be in the valley. All levels of knowledge are welcome. There will be projects for the total beginner as well as specialist projects for the weaving wiz. Maybe you can make yourself a scarf, a tea-towel or two, a bag or learn about a specific technique you were always interested in. These classes are supported by the DCC through their Creative Communities Program. This first class will be followed by a class in up-cycling in term two and dyeing and weaving classes in terms three and four.

Fees will include initial materials and will be $175 waged and $140 unwaged (for 24 Teaching hours). Table looms can be rented for $20 for the duration of the class (upon availability).
