2 scarves 1995, Montreal
app. 50 cm x 220 cm
When I lived in Montreal the first time from 1994 to 1996, I worked at the Centre des Textiles Contemporain as assistant to Louise Lemieux-Bérubé. My best friend and sister-visionary in things textile during those years was Hungarian artist Anna Biro. One day we scored a box with 200 reels of gold thread.
I helped her dressing the loom for her thesis with a 30m warp with 3744 threads (104 epi). In exchange I was allowed to use 5 metres of that warp. This was the result.
